A Pékség, which means The Bakery in Hungarian, is not just a simple website, but the digital telling of a family bakery story that spans generations. With our scroll-driven solution, we guide the viewer interactively through the brand’s past, heritage and renewal. Here, storytelling is not an additional element, but the experience itself: through the rhythm of scrolling, the visitor discovers how a family legacy becomes a contemporary digital story.
The hero is built on the foundation of our story: the old family bread recipe. The dough, born from the simplest ingredients, floats between the baker’s hands in a warm, handcrafted scene, then, to the rhythm of scrolling, the main ingredients arrive: wheat and water, and from the flour cloud, the “A Pékség” logo gradually emerges, followed finally by the bread itself. This way, already on the first screen, we are not just showing a visual, but starting the story that the entire brand experience is built on.
In the next section, the story turns into a timeline. The visitor is not simply reading dates, but moving through the key moments that shaped the character of the bakery: from the family oven and the first recipes, through a passion that became a craft, all the way to renewal. The scroll-driven interaction remains part of the storytelling here as well: each step reveals another layer of the heritage that eventually becomes a contemporary brand experience.
We worked a lot on making the old images as high-quality as possible digitally, while still preserving their period authenticity and continuing to reflect the original age of the photographs in a credible way. Using various AI tools, we upscaled and refined them until they could finally be placed on the walls of the bakery. As part of the service design, waiting no longer remains empty time: while standing in line, customers can discover the bakery’s past, the family tradition and the care that makes the product truly more than just a simple loaf of bread.
The service design mindset also extended to further physical touchpoints: alongside the brand, web and in-store storytelling, we also designed the bakery bag and a bread band that can be tied around the loaf. These are not merely packaging elements, but parts of the brand experience: they carry the visual world forward, strengthen the brand presence, and the back of the band also provides space for the key product information. Naturally, these elements are also presented on the website through a scroll-driven solution, so the packaging details are connected to the same digital storytelling system.
